Acknowledging Cammeraigal Country

The Sydney Institute of Marine Science proudly acknowledges the traditional owners of the land and water upon we stand, the Cammeraigal people of the Eora Nation.

We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present and to those of the future, and acknowledge their spiritual connection to land, sea and sky and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultures.

The Sydney Institute of Marine Science recognises that, by acknowledging our shared past, we are laying the groundwork for a future which embraces all Australians, a future based on mutual respect and shared responsibility for our Country. We acknowledge the continuous and ongoing relationship and care of Sydney Harbour, broader sea Country and its catchments by Aboriginal custodians.
